Pastor Ginny is a native Philadelphian who attended the Philadelphia public schools, Delaware Valley College in New Britain and later the LTSP seminary as a second career student. She has two children and eight grandchildren, ages 21-31, and 2 Great grand- children. Most live in Bucks County and are very active in their own churches. One summer, six of her grandchildren went on the same missions’ trip together.
Before attending The Lutheran Seminary at Philadelphia, her career path was varied and eclectic; managing a doll house miniature shop, school bus driver, Administrative Assistant for the March of Dimes Birth Defect Foundation, Field Manager for Welcome Wagon, Int., and quality control for a large insurance and investment company. She also volunteered as a Cadette Girl Scout leader for 15 years.
She was co-coordinator for the Share Our Surplus Warehouse for Lutheran Congregational Services. They distributed surplus laundry detergent, fabric softener and home health care products to food banks and social agencies in an eight county area. They distributed over 250,000 products in five years. Sadly, the products became unavailable in 2017 and they had to close the ministry.
She has been in the Northeast Pennsylvania Synod since 2004. She was called to St Peter’s in Easton, and has served many other congregations as an interim and supply throughout the Lehigh Valley, Bucks, Montgomery, Berks, Carbon and Schuylkill Counties.
Kathy came to St. Mark after 28 years as an administrative assistant for a Lutheran social ministry agency.
She serves the congregation by working as secretary to the Pastor and maintaining the office of the church and is accountable to the Pastor and Congregational Council. She also receives assignments from other standing committees of the church.
Her responsibilities also include preparing weekly bulletins as well as funeral, wedding, and non-Sunday worship services or special program, preparing a monthly newsletter, maintaining the Parish Register, acting as receptionist by answering door and the telephone. She is in charge of purchasing all church and office supplies, updating the parish directory, maintain the church bulletin board, typing all correspondence, and attending evening meetings when required.
